📋 SEEKING: Boats of all sizes for casual tie-ups on the Willamette River.

About me: I'm a 320-foot public floating dock with a 40-ton capacity, free to use, and conveniently located between Clackamette Park and Sportcraft Landing in Oregon City.
Yes, I am open for business (pardon my neighbor’s construction dust).
I've recently had a full structural assessment. I'm in great shape.

What I'm looking for:
🚣 Kayaks and canoes — come float my way
⛵ Recreational vessels — you had me at starboard
🛥️ Mid-size commercial vessels — we're working on it (84-foot Crystal Dolphin, call me)
🚢 The (150 ft, 360 tons) — it's not you, it's the river channel
🚢 — we’ll be together, one sweet day

No strings attached. Well, dock lines are required.
Tie-up limit: 72 hours. I'm a dock, not a relationship.

We are excited to announce the 2026 Yakama Nation Willamette Falls Lamprey Celebration. The event will take place on Thursday, June 25, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Clackamette Park in Oregon City, OR.

We gather to honor Asum (Pacific Lamprey), one of our sacred first foods. The celebration is held near Willamette Falls—derived from our traditional Sahaptin name, Wilumpt—to honor our ancestors who have harvested at these falls since time immemorial. We also recognize the past leaders who fought to retain our harvest rights and the tribal members who continue this traditional practice today.

The celebration will include cultural dance performances; speakers from our tribal leaders and guests; a boat tour to Willamette Falls as well as a complimentary salmon & lamprey meal!

*Please scan the QR code on our flyer to RSVP for a meal ticket or visit

This free event is open to the public and includes Yakama cultural and educational activities, a free salmon luncheon and more!

One brother attempted to found a utopian colony in Honduras, another helped organize the Grange in California, and the third fought for democratic reforms in Oregon.

We're talking about the Lewelling brothers, who hauled a wagonload of fruit trees from Iowa in 1847 and planted the first grafted-fruit orchard in Oregon country.

Discover the roots of the Pacific coast fruit industry and learn about these horticulturists, who were also abolitionists, gold miners, and Quakers-turned-Spiritualists.

🌸 She Built This City 🌸
This Mother's Day weekend we're kicking off this new series. First up: the woman who saved historic Oregon City.

Ruth McBride Powers (1903–1995) was a Stanford-educated preservationist who spent decades using her own resources to save Oregon's oldest buildings — sometimes purchasing them outright, sometimes providing the major funding herself. Among the structures she rescued: the Francis Ermatinger House, the Philip Foster Farm, the Ainsworth House, and the William Holmes House. She received national recognition from the National Trust for Historic Preservation in 1975.

And yet, so few people know about her.

Tomorrow is your chance to change that.

The McLoughlin Memorial Association — the organization Ruth founded — is hosting a special celebration of her legacy at the William L. Holmes House (Rose Farm) this Saturday, May 9th from 12 noon to 4pm. 536 Holmes Ln, Oregon City.

🌿 Free & open to the public

Come meet the people keeping her work alive. And while you're in Oregon City for Mother's Day weekend — look around. So much of what makes this city worth visiting was saved by a woman who loved it enough to fight for it.
