Not everything that makes the redwood forest extraordinary stands hundreds of feet tall.

This is the Oak Bracket (Pseudoinonotus dryadeus), a fascinating fungus that can produce beautiful droplets during growth. This process, called guttation, is the fungus releasing excess moisture and dissolved compounds, creating an incredibly odd appearance.

From towering ancient trees to tiny fungi, colorful lichens, and fascinating wildlife, there's always something waiting to be discovered if you slow down and look closely.

No kidding, this is a type of butt rot fungus. Wonderful category eh?

Roosevelt Elk foraging in the ancient Redwoods. Not everyday they are deep in the woods, more commonly out in the open meadows. These are massive and strong animals that deserve significant space and respect, and should not be approached. We are a good respectful distance away, please be respectful of the wildlife in our National Parks.
