Yesterday, one of my clients was supposed to leave for her Caribbean honeymoon.
Instead, she woke up sick and couldn’t go. 💔
And y’all… imagine being sick, heartbroken that you’re missing your HONEYMOON, and then having to spend the entire day on the phone with airlines, resorts, insurance companies, transfers, etc. trying to figure out what to do next.
She didn’t have to do that.
She had me.
I spent the day making calls, advocating for her, changing and rerouting flights, talking through options and trying to salvage what we could — while she could focus on getting better.
THIS is one of the biggest reasons I believe in using a travel advisor. I love planning the fun stuff. But sometimes my most important job starts when the fun stuff goes wrong.
And while we’re here:
**GET. THE. TRAVEL. INSURANCE. Y’ALL.**
Nobody books a honeymoon thinking they’re going to wake up sick the morning they leave.
Nobody books a $5,000, $10,000 or $20,000 vacation thinking they won't get to go.
But life does not care how much you spent on your vacation.
You truly never know what can happen between the day you book and the day you leave. Depending on your policy and the circumstances, travel insurance can protect prepaid, nonrefundable trip costs when a covered illness or other covered event keeps you from traveling.
I will always recommend it.
Because the one time you need it is usually the time you REALLY need it. ❤️
And book with a travel agent.
Because when everything goes sideways, having an actual person in your corner matters.
