Zonta International Italy organized a meeting in Rome at the Chamber of Deputies to celebrate the recognition of the right to vote for Italian women and to remember the path of women's emancipation.

The Zonta Club of Chittagong, Bangladesh, recently helped connect a survivor of child marriage and domestic violence with legal assistance, resulting in an arrest warrant being issued against her husband. Members also organized a human chain calling for justice following the tragic murder of eight-year-old Ramisa Akter and urging stronger protections for girls and women.

✨ Victory! ✨ Oklahoma is the 17th US state to raise the legal age of marriage to 18 without exceptions. With the newly passed legislation, the state removes existing exceptions that allow minors to marry with parental consent or court approval.

💡 Why does this matter? When children—especially girls—are married off, it often happens without their full, free consent. Many are coerced, exploited, and subjected to abuse, with little chance of escape. This is a clear violation of their autonomy and a form of modern slavery that silences their voices and robs them of their future.

We now have 33 States to go. Help us keep the pressure on by urging lawmakers across the US to protect children from forced marriage.
