Let’s chat about the UnTangled Salon aboard the Disney Wish Class ships (Wish, Treasure and Destiny).

Located typically on the 4th deck midship, this is a great spot for some hair services, manis, pedis and even teeth whitening! The salon would be a great alternative to Bibbity Bobbity Boutique for perhaps older children and adults.

What I was blown away by was the theming and small details. During an early morning walk around the ship, I was able to duck into the salon to take some pictures and learn more about the salon (shout-out the castmember Markie who showed me everything!!). You will find the sun flower details throughout the salon. The light fixtures are the iconic lanterns. The drapes represent Rapunzel’s hair and even have the flowers holding it back. My FAVORITE detail, though, has to be the mirrors. They are all shaped like frying pans!

Disney’s Castaway Cay will always be a special place to our family. The crystal blue waters, the shark net (very important for this horrible swimmer), the beaches with sooooo many loungers and umbrellas, the food, the free ice cream. All ingredients for a perfect day!

I tried the Pelican Plunge slide for the first time this trip! I went down the enclosed slide, which is faster than the open slide. I went flying and lost my hat. Luckily it was found before I doggy paddled it back to shore!

Disney Cruise Line Kids Club will move to the island on Castaway days. Feel free to drop the kiddos off for some fun while you head to Serenity Bay for some relaxing adult only fun!

FUN FACT!

Did you know that the hulls of the Disney Cruise Line ships are blue and not black like they appear? They are in fact a special shade of blue, Monica Blue.

When Disney Imagineers were deciding the color scheme of the DCL ships, they wanted the colors to represent the Main Mouse himself. They proved that yellow lifeboats can be seen as easily as the normal orange. Red accents were added. But the “problem” came when wanting to paint the hulls black. Black on ships is typically associated with pirates so this was a no go. During a meeting, our hero in the form of a production assistant named Monica entered the room wearing a dark blue (almost black) sweater. A lightbulb went on in the imagineers heads and the color MONICA BLUE was greated.

Want to know one of my favorite things on the Destiny that I JUST NOW discovered? To be perfectly honest, I don’t know why exactly I am so excited about this but want to share.

On the vanity in the Verandah staterooms (cannot speak to all stateroom types since this is the only room I have seen), they have outlets facing different directions. I panicked for a second when I went to plug in my blow dryer brush only to find out the plus on the brush was too long to fit the plug I was trying. To my surprise there was another one above it facing the opposite direction so I could us it. Made my day. It’s the small things, ok?

Another fun touch in the rooms is this hot tool pad to place your straightener, curling iron, blow dryer, etc on to protect the furniture!

Coffee shops on the Disney Destiny hit different. From the perfect themes and the AMAZING coffees and adult drinks, I could stay here all day 🧡

My favorite? Cafe Megara themed after the best non-damsel in distress. I won’t say I’m not in love with this spot!

Pack my day bag with me for our Disney Destiny cruise!

What is a day bag? This is a bag you take with you on embarkation day that hold all the essentials you may need for the day before you have access to the rest of your luggage. Any alcohol you bring on a Disney Cruise must be in your day bag, it cannot go into your checked bag. Each adult is allowed one 750mL bottle of wine or one 6 pack (12oz) of beer.

I prefer a tote bag for my bag, Hubs prefers a backpack. Use whatever is comfortable for you!

My essentials include sunscreen (spray and powder for your face), water bottles, chargers, Kindle, magnets for the door, Fish Extender, compression bag of clothes for dinner, magnetic hooks for the room to hold our bags, snacks and more!

I also use a purse so I have easy access to our passports, port arrival form, hand sanitizer, etc.
