🚨PLEASE READ.....
If you have upcoming travel to Mexico, please ONLY rely on trusted news sources and official government updates — not viral posts or AI-generated videos designed to create panic.
The Governor of Quintana Roo (Cancún area), Mara Lezama, has confirmed the situation is under control.
Over 10,000 federal, state, and municipal personnel are deployed and working in coordination with the Army, National Guard, and Navy.
As of now:
✈️ All four international airports are operating normally
🚌 ADO buses and the Maya Train are running as usual
🎓 Schools remain open
🏨 No hotel zone closures
❌ No flight cancellations due to security
Rumors of widespread fires and a burned airplane have been confirmed as false.
At this time, Cancún, which is 1,500 miles away from Puerto Vallarta is operating as usual with no disruptions to airport transfers or hotel operations.
Also remember that Mexico is a BIG country, not a tiny island.
Its like the United States.....unrest in California doesn't mean you cancel your trip to New York, right?
And if you're concerned about Quintana Roo being mentioned in the travel advisory you read, don't worry - thats standard government protocol. Just read the US travel advisory for some context....
But, all this to say that we at Almost There Travel Group are continuing to monitor closely.
