As we keep an eye on a distant hurricane, it’s crucial to be aware of the potential dangers it can bring, including RIP CURRENTS. 💨💧

🔹 What are rip currents?
Rip currents are powerful, narrow channels of water that flow quickly away from the shore. They can be especially dangerous when tropical storms or hurricanes are nearby.

🔹 Why are they risky?
During these weather events, the ocean’s conditions can change rapidly, creating unpredictable currents. Rip currents can pull swimmers out to sea, leading to dangerous situations.

🔹 How to stay safe:
1️⃣ Stay Informed: Monitor weather updates and warnings.
2️⃣ Heed Lifeguards: Always swim in designated areas, and follow lifeguard instructions.
3️⃣ Spot the Signs: Look for changes in water color, choppy conditions, or foamy water.

A snap from back in time. The Villas at Ocean Shores was once The Ocean Crest and first opened its doors in 1951. How many vintage aesthetics can you spot in this photo?
