Before checking into our hotel, in Mayfield Heights in Ohio we stopped for our last evening meal together. Tomorrow, Sunday is our last leg of driving and will be home. We had time to shop a little in the gift store and a few even managed to make purchases next-door at the convenience store at the filling station.

The last visitor site we went was “The Women’s RightsNational Park” in Seneca, Falls, New York. The woman’s rights national Park in Seneca, Falls, New York. The park was first opened in 1982 and it gradually expanded through purchases over the decades it recognizes the site of the 1848 Seneca Falls convention, which was the first woman’s Wright convention, and the homes of several of the women rights activist. There are four major properties to visit , again we could’ve spent more time there. There was so much to see.

Friday morning with our suitcases packed for the return trip home, we headed off to the coach and would stop at the Ruby Tuesday restaurant in East Syracuse, New York for dinner and then check into our hotel for the night. We traveled through New, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and then into New York. We saw a number of accidents during the past week on route and today there were a lot of motorcycles that must’ve been on a group ride for some cause

Thursday evening dinner was at Taste of Maine in Woolwich ME. It’s famous for its fresh seafood and a huge lobster on the roof. Just about everyone had ordered the lobster(a few had haddock or shrimp). The whole lobster set before along with the tools to crack the shell and claws.

After spending the morning at the Maine Maritime Museum in Bath, we went down to Boothbay Harbor, where we had lunch along the peers and all the little shops. At 2:30 PM back on the Coach we went out to the Boothbay Railway Village, which is a real gem to visit. There is a HO scale model railroad exhibit along with various historic buildings in the village such as the antique Auto exhibit. We got to ride a board, the narrow gauge steam train and then had time to explore. We were there two hours, but could’ve spent a lot more time. Very interesting.

Thursday morning we visited the Maine Maritime Museum in Bath, Maine, it is located an active waterfront along the banks of the Kennebec river. it was interesting to learn about the evolution of shipbuilding from the early ships that were made of wood to modern ship building of steel.

Wednesday we had time to stop at Len Libby Candies, a fourth generation chocolatiers.  we got to see the world’s first life-size chocolate mousse that’s “hiding” in the store.  all the candies are handmade. That evening we went to a dinner buffet that had entertainment. We didn’t have too many dancers in our group though so we did leave a little early

Wednesday afternoon we had lunch in downtown Portland along the Long Wharf Pier. Deanna and I went on a boat cruise out into the Harbor to look at the seals on the rookie is out in the Bay. Our step on Guide joined us at 2:30 and gave us a guided tour of Portland. We went through historic neighborhoods overlooking the islands of Casco Bay and then had a stop at the Portland head lighthouse in Fort William Park.

Wednesday, our tour took us to the Victoria Mansion in Portland. It was built more than 160 years ago by Ruggles Morse  who had made his fortune in New Orleans in the hotel business with the intention of this being his summer house. It it was actually more than two dozen black and mixed race individuals who had been purchased, and or sold by the Morris, that unwillingly assisted in the construction of the mansion .
