We just got back from Disney's Vero Beach resort. It is a beachfront vacation property located along Florida’s Atlantic coast in Vero Beach, about two hours from Walt Disney World.
Accommodations range from standard inn rooms to multi-bedroom villas and beach cottages. Many rooms offer ocean views, and the larger villas are especially popular with families planning extended stays.
One of the resort’s most notable features is its strong connection to environmental conservation. The property sits near important sea turtle nesting areas, and Disney incorporated special lighting and building designs to help protect hatchling turtles during nesting season. Educational programs about local wildlife and marine ecosystems are often available for guests. It was very cool to see and hear the stories.
Amenities at the resort include a large Mickey-shaped swimming pool, a pirate-themed waterslide, direct beach access, tennis and basketball courts, miniature golf, bike rentals, fishing excursions, and various children’s recreation programs. The resort also offers campfires, movie nights, and seasonal family activities. We rented bikes and rode on the Jungle Trail and had a blast.
This resort had all the charm and feels of a Walt Disney World resort but instead of being at the parks, it is beachfront. Pretty perfect combination if you ask me.
