Our guides not only help you get to the top of your next big climb, they also share their methods and decision making processes so you can benefit from their years of experience. During our courses and climbs, we also seek to build and maintain

friendships, and we pride ourselves on securing partnerships that last for many years. Our school is based in Ouray, Colorado located in the heart of the San Juan Mountains. We offer both open registration courses and custom programs designed to fit individual goals. Custom programs allow us the flexibility to structure the curriculum to meet each person or self-organized group's specific needs and objectives. Either way, your outdoor experience will be not only instructional, but also personalized and fun.

What’s in your spring ski kit?

This time of year there’s a few extra items to add to your kit for the ideal spring skiing:

1️⃣ Ski Crampons — for icy/firm skin tracks. (these are specific to your binding so make sure you get the right ones!)

2️⃣ Skin wax — so you don’t glop up when the snow gets wet.

3️⃣ Ice axe — a lightweight axe is a great addition for steep boot packing or for extra security on steep descents for splitboarders.

Plus: don’t forget that sunscreen!!!

We’re hiring an office coordinator/administrative assistant! 🧗 ⛷️

Based in Ouray, CO, this part-time position would start in May. This is a year-round in-person position with flexible hours. Job duties include responding to email and phone inquiries, customer service, sales, scheduling, gear rentals, and more. Previously administrative experience and knowledge of the outdoor recreation opportunities in the San Juan Mountain Range is preferred.

The ideal candidate will be looking for long-term career growth in the management side of the outdoor industry. This is not a guiding position.

Refine your technique with Andres Marin, seven-time competitor at the Ice and Mixed Climbing World Cup, who has notable FA’s in Peru, Kyrgyzstan, and China. This clinic is suited for participants with some ice climbing experience who would like to sharpen their skills on WI4 ice. Beginners with prior climbing experience are also welcome.
