An average of 150 like minded hackers meet the second Tuesday of every month and provide an educational opportunity rooted in community and shenanigans. !! It is SecKC day !! Tonight at Knuckleheads Garage, doors at 5:00 PM and talks at 6:00.

jigglebilly welcomes everyone in, CodexMafia runs the Diet Coke auction (still not explaining it), and net_code has Open Source News. Then Chris and Brayson tell the story of winning a DEF CON black badge in their first year at the SECVC booth, and hevnsnt brings the SecKC insider edition of noRecognition, with research that wasn't in his Black Hat talk. j0nny54l1v3 closes it out on the beats.

There is no stream tonight. If you aren't at Knuckleheads, you miss it.

Thanks to the sponsors keeping it free: Malmoset and Shelly (Gold), and Horizon3.ai and Cohesity (Silver).

Free to get in, the bar is cash only (ATM onsite, food takes card), bring your ID, and watch for the train. See you tonight.

SecKC is back at Knuckleheads Garage on Tuesday, October 13, doors at 5:00 PM, talks starting at 6:00. Same address as always: 701 North Montgall Avenue, Kansas City, MO 64120.

Heads up: this month is NOT being streamed. If you aren't at Knuckleheads, you miss it.

Chris () and Brayson () walked into the SECVC booth at DEF CON for the first time this year and walked out with a black badge. They're telling the whole story, from the team application to crossing the stage, plus all the chaos in between. If you think the booth looks easy, come hear how it went for them before you sign up.

After that, brings noRecognition: adversarial patterns printed on ordinary fabric that make facial recognition fall apart. People nearby see someone in a scarf, and the AI sees nothing. This is the SecKC insider edition, with new research that wasn't in the Black Hat version.

We also have Open Source News, a Diet Coke auction (we are not explaining that one), and on the beats to close it out.

Thanks to the sponsors who keep this free: Malmoset and Shelly (Gold), and Horizon3.ai (Silver).

A few reminders: the bar at Knuckleheads is cash only (there is an ATM onsite, and food takes card), bring your ID, and the venue sits right by the train tracks, so give yourself a few extra minutes in case one has you stuck.

Our Gold sponsor for September is Torq, and they are a big part of keeping SecKC free.

That kind of support is what lets a volunteer-run community put on a night like this, with the big names on the schedule, and not charge a dime at the door. Thank you, Torq.

One more day: SecKC is Tuesday, September 8 at Knuckleheads, doors at 5.

Free to get in, cash bar, bring your ID, and give yourself a few extra minutes for the train.

Sponsor spotlight: LMG Security. SecKC stays free because Silver sponsors like LMG Security have our backs, and we do not take that for granted. If you are coming out Tuesday, September 8 at Knuckleheads, they are part of the reason the door is open and the talks are worth your night. Thank you, LMG Security.
