So exciting from our Bowling Green friends!!!

This little ice cream business that I didn’t know I needed has brought me so many sweet moments that I never want to forget - and today was full of those moments. This year, we entered our ice cream in the for the first time, and today was dairy drop-off and judging day. We entered two flavors: Double Vanilla (flavored with vanilla extract, and vanilla beans), and shop fave - & the one with the most votes in my stories - Hey, Honey. We made the drop, and while we waited for the ice cream judging time, I treated Taylor & Laynie to the “Susan Warrell Tour” of where I grew up, including my elementary & high schools, and favorite thrift shop. 😂 After a delicious lunch at a local eatery, we headed back to the fair & expo center. We met up with our friends from , and joined the others in the dairy judging room. When we came in, they still had a few things to judge before getting to the ice cream. It was really interesting to watch! Finally the star of our show was up - ice cream! They started with the vanillas. I was so nervous that I was shaking! They gave feedback on each one, and named the gold award winner. Our vanilla scored a red ribbon! Very exciting! They moved on to the, “Any Flavor” category, which is where we submitted Hey, Honey. I was REALLY shaking now. It was intense! When they got to ours, we leaned in to try to hear what they were saying to each other, and we heard some really good things! But there were still several other flavors to judge. They found another flavor that they really liked, and they debated between our flavor and that flavor for (what felt like) a very long time, and even pulled in more people to taste both to try to make a decision for the gold award. It was nerve wracking & exciting all at once! Our flavor and theirs each scored a 9 out of 10, each for a different reason. But in the end, the other flavor nudged us out of the gold award. 😭 We still came home with a blue ribbon (woo hoo!) and received many compliments. It was pretty exciting, especially for it being our first year! I’m super proud of our production team for always getting it done and creating such delicious flavors!
