As Iβm reading the dirge of facebook posts, I want to offer a different perspective. Today I am excited.
Not because Iβve lost my mind or my heart or my ethics, but because I know that only through the trial do we fulfill our potential.
The next 4 years (maybe 2) we will become powerful beyond measure, we will love fearlessly and selflessly, we will learn and grow, we will have the feeling of exhaustion that comes from being completely used up by doing something truly noble, and knowing that you are going to get up tomorrow and do it again.
I am not naΓ―ve about this - I know that this will be hard, I know that there are many people who will suffer (regardless of their choice of president) at the hands of the attempts to dismantle a government that has aspired to serve all Americans and to be a model of certain values for the world.
But at this point we donβt have a choice about that set of circumstances, we do have a choice about how we face it.
Iβm in, Iβm alive, I am unstoppable. Join me (youβve got til sunday π
P.S. tRump and the policies proposed by the administration are a big problem... but I actually think (possibly because I read too much science fiction) that this is the preparatory test, for us to build the skills and character to deal with the global risks of the future - most obviously of which is the impacts of climate change but there are several others. Never let a good crisis go to waste.
