Join us at Dunn's Creek State Park on Saturday, May 30, from 10-12 for a guided bird walk in partnership with the Burning for Birds Conservation Collaborative. Help identify and record bird species to collect data on bird population size and movement patterns.
The Collaborative is focused on habitat restoration for declining, fire-dependent bird species, such as the prothonotary warbler, Bachman’s sparrow, and Florida scrub-jay, that require regular prescribed fire to maintain their habitat.
The Burning for Birds Bioblitz has limited spots available, and they are filling up fast! RSVP with PLC at https://forms.gle/nmiawerVsZE43hZq8 to reserve your spot and have the park entrance fee covered. Whether you’re an expert birder or just starting out, we’d love to see you there!
We recommend bringing water and wearing comfortable walking shoes. Don’t forget to install the Merlin Bird ID and eBird apps to help identify and record your bird observations!
