SCAM ALERT: STOP

I was contacted by a friend.

It was not my friend.

It was someone whom may have "hacked" my friend's messenger account.

My friend is a college graduate. The grammer in the messenger texts messages was atrocious.

MY FIRST CLUE IT WAS A HACKER.

They apparently are hacking accounts so that it appears that "your" friends are texting you.

CYA:
call the friend to varify their validity and that, in fact, they are whom they say the are.

The "promotional prize" is $1,600,000.00. NOT TRUE!

The hacker, posing as your friend, request general, public information, ie., name/age/address...

The kicker is that the target of the scam is suppose to pay a "CASE FILE FEE," to the UPS driver, and that within 12 hours the person being scammed will receive a check in the aforementioned amount of $1,600,000.00.

MY SECOND CLUE:

The scamee, is supposed to pay the "CASE FILE FEE" to the scammer, via UPS.

The fee is $1,500.00.

UPS IS APPARENTLY BEING USED AS AN INTERMEDIARY IN THIS SCAM. I'm contacting UPS' fraud division to inform them of same.

Comfort Cab of River City is looking out for it's friends and family by passing on this SCAM alert.
