“Indira was an unusual child from the start. She was always fascinated with the sixties. Her friends would tease her and call her a “born again hippie”. Her dress, her speech, her manner, everything about her was the sixties. Indira loved to dance to her beloved albums, swaying back and forth entranced in the melodic sound of the sixties.
When she was old enough she moved to Woodstock, New York so she could drink in the vibe, mediating in the now empty fields of that “oh so famous concert”.
Indira made it a point to surround herself with furnishings, fabrics, appliances and anything from that era of the past. Her sweet little cottage, built in the sixties, is perched on a hill surrounded by tall trees and a garden of flowers and vegetables.
Indira loves her life and is so grateful to be able to express herself through her love of that very special time … the sixties!”

"FAITH"
A few weeks back I started a painting (starting with the background as I usually do) that was going to be the background for a more complex composition with a ballerina front & center. A few people really loved it & recommended I leave it at that. I thought about that & decided to add some subtle elements to make it more meaningful to me & declared "done"......then the “Covid-19 pandemic” was unrolled onto humanity.
It took on an unavoidable connection to the bizarre time period it was born in....like beauty in the midst of chaos or a diamond in your septic field.
I call it "FAITH". (March 2020)

I started painting a sharply foreshortened wall with a sky of contrast, dark to light. The idea of runners and the “path of life” theme followed. I then did the drawing as the concept became clarified. I always draw before I paint as a general rule.

Our life is a required path. It is the path of the soul, originating from and supervised by higher levels, spanning much more than one human life span. Everyone is on it, even if they don’t know it. It is the path of life, the path of conscious experience, the path of identity aware of itself, the path through “time” while assuming the role of a separate “me” with a flesh body called “mine”. It is the path of the soul.”
