I saw this beautiful Great Blue Heron on the Erie Canal this week. I love going for a walk or a run in the early to mid morning. The wildlife is so active!

Another amazing Friday! We didn’t have the best luck locating our cold blooded buddies, but did find this beautiful Red-Backed Salamander at the very end. We also survived our living board game migration, and had a blast using our adventure kits. Thank you to all who joined us!

Today is my birthday! Last year I spent this day exploring the Ontario Pathways by myself and had an amazingly fun and relaxing day. I never could have imagined that one year later I would be offering guided family hikes in this same creek. So far I have lead 3 groups with more to come!

Such a beautiful day for a Turtle Trek at the Palmyra Wetlands! We saw 38 turtles, played turtle tag, and made some adorable bead turtles. Thank you to everyone who joined us!

Salamander Strolls at Bullis Park COMING SOON!

Are your kids amazed by salamanders and other creatures they find outside? Then join Adventures with Alyssa Rose for a Salamander Stroll at Bullis Park to learn more about the sneaky species of salamanders that live all around us.

Start with a 0.5 mile hike through the forest talking about and looking for salamanders.

At the end of the hike participants will make their way back down the path by playing Migrate Like a Mole Salamander, a living board game adaptation of The Great Migration Challenge from Project Wild.

Finally, we will make a salamander themed craft or listen to a salamander story.

The first stroll is April 12th.
