I began with absolutely no experience, but a burning desire to own a condo at Apple Valley Resort - Lake Cumberland, Ky. My husband and I had driven to Lake Cumberland on an unseasonably warm winter day to trout fish below Wolf Creek Dam. We had been talking about how "neat" it would be to own a place of our own at the lake. We had been renting condos at Apple Valley for years by then, booking a condo every Memorial Day Weekend, two weeks during "plant shutdown" in July, and Labor Day Weekend. We were paying for someone else's condo! I thought to myself….we should just BUY one and rent it to others and let THEM pay for OUR dream. We were passing by Ralph Roy Realty and I suggested that we stop in and see if any of the condos at Apple Valley were ever for sale. Well guess what? Ralph Roy himself had a condo that he was ready to sell, and the rest is history. We were terrified about not being able to get enough renters to pay for it! We worked every weekend non-stop to get it ready for our first guests. Summer came quickly and so did our guests! Our valued return guests call Apple Sally's Condo "their home away from home."

In the late 80's we also discovered Panama City Beach, and spent every Spring Break renting condos with our three daughters and my parents for over a decade. By this time I had gotten pretty good at renting condos, with the experience from Apple Valley, so the next step was to buy a condo at Panama City Beach - a dream come true.

If you find a cold-stunned sea turtle on Panama City Beach — meaning it’s weak, immobile, floating in the water, or washed up on the sand after cold weather — it’s important not to try to handle or move it yourself.
