There's a Pack 'n Play and a high chair here waiting — not available on request, not an add-on fee, just already in the house. We travel with a toddler ourselves, and we got tired of the trunk Tetris.

Fall on the Gulf Coast is the best-kept secret in Florida travel. ☀️

October around here: highs in the upper 70s, water still warm enough to swim, evenings cool enough to sit outside, and roughly half the rainfall of August. Fewer crowds, easier restaurant tables, better light for photos.

There's a small, specific joy in rinsing off a full day of salt and sunscreen — and then walking out into a house that's cool, quiet, and yours for the week.

Soft blues, real furniture, no rental-grade anything. 🤍

We went with a coastal palette because it's what this place actually feels like — sea glass, sand, weathered white — not because it's what beach rentals are supposed to look like. Luxury vinyl plank floors underfoot because they handle sandy feet without complaint.

The goal was a house that feels like a home somebody loves, not an inventory unit.

The primary bath has a double vanity with real counter space — which sounds like a small thing until it's 8 AM, everyone's trying to get out the door to the beach, and there's exactly one place to put a toothbrush.

Good lighting, granite counters, and room for more than one person to exist in there at the same time.

Last official day of summer. Not the last good one. ☀️

Labor Day gets treated like the end of beach season around here, and it just isn't. The Gulf stays swimmable straight through October — water's still in the high 70s when the rest of the country is digging out sweaters.

What actually changes after today: fewer people, easier parking, and rates that soften up. Same sand, same sun, more of it to yourself.

Long-weekend rule: bedtime is a suggestion. 🌴

There's a specific kind of tired that only happens after a full day in salt water — the kind where kids fall asleep mid-sentence and stay asleep. Bunk beds, sea-glass striped bedding, and a room dark enough to actually rest in.

We kept the whole house smoke-free and pet-free, partly because someone in our family has allergies. It matters more than you'd think when everyone's sleeping with the windows shut and the AC running.
