🎨👀 Something BIG is taking shape in downtown Paris, Arkansas!

And we are LOVING it! 😍

Local artist Jason White of White's Artworks is bringing a brand-new mural to life, celebrating some of the things that make this corner of the Tri-Peaks Region so special!

We love seeing our small towns embrace public art that celebrates their history and local character. ❤️

🚵‍♂️ Things are about to get a little WILD on Mount Nebo! 🤘

The Mt. Nebo Enduro is returning November 21–22, and mountain bikers from across the region are gearing up for one epic weekend in the Arkansas River Valley!

This isn't your average bike ride! 😂

As the season finale of the Arkansas Enduro Series, riders will tackle Mount Nebo's incredible Monument Trails, featuring technical rock gardens, fast-flowing singletrack, and some seriously challenging terrain.

And those views of the Arkansas River Valley? Not a bad reward for all that pedaling! 😍

🚵‍♀️ Here's the weekend lineup:

📅 Saturday, November 21
• Official practice: 9 AM–4 PM
• Early check-in: 4–7 PM

🏁 Sunday, November 22
• Race day: 9 AM–3 PM
• Podium awards: 4 PM

🥾 Did you know you can hike 27 miles from Highway 7 to Lake Sylvia? (Info 👇)

Tucked along Scenic Highway 7 in the Tri-Peaks Region, the Highway 7 Trailhead is a gateway to one of Arkansas' most incredible long-distance hiking adventures!

Located at mile marker 160.4 of the 223-mile Ouachita National Recreation Trail, this trailhead connects hikers to miles of rugged wilderness, mountain views, and remote backcountry.

Heading east toward Lake Sylvia? Here's what awaits along Section 8:

🥾 Highway 7 to Oak Mountain Shelter: 6.3 miles
🌲 Oak Mountain Shelter to Brown Creek Shelter: 10.4 miles
⛰️ Brown Creek Shelter to Flatside Pinnacle: 5.3 miles
🌄 Flatside Pinnacle to Lake Sylvia: 5 miles

That's approximately 27 miles of Arkansas wilderness, including the beautiful Flatside Wilderness, scenic ridgelines, and some seriously rewarding overlooks.

This isn't your average afternoon stroll! The terrain can be physically demanding, making it a great adventure for experienced hikers looking to tackle a longer section of the Ouachita Trail.

Not ready for all 27 miles? The Highway 7 Trailhead also provides access for shorter out-and-back hikes. Just choose a distance that matches your experience and come prepared.

🏡 Did you know there's a house on Mount Nebo that's been standing since 1889?! (Info 👇)

Long before Mount Nebo became one of Arkansas' favorite state parks, the mountain was home to a thriving summer community, and the historic Cornwell House is one of the reminders of that fascinating past.

Built in 1889, the house originally served the Arkansas Summer Normal School, a teacher training program that brought educators to the mountain.

Over the years, the property changed hands before becoming part of Mount Nebo State Park in 1997.

Today, the Cornwell House helps tell the story of the mountain's history through exhibits highlighting:

🏡 Early settlers and life on Mount Nebo 📚 The mountain's educational history 🪨 The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) 👒 The women who helped shape the mountain's community

It's a wonderful reminder that there's so much more to Mount Nebo than its incredible views, hiking trails, and sunsets!

There's something special about the stretch of Scenic Highway 7 just north of Hollis, where winding mountain roads take you through the Ouachita National Forest with beautiful views around nearly every curve.

Designated as Arkansas' first state scenic byway in 1993, Highway 7 stretches nearly 300 miles across the state, but you don't have to drive the entire route to experience some of its best scenery!
