The Pike Lake Chain now has 5 fishing line recycling tubes. This project, sponsored by the PLCLA, provides a convenient location for disposing of fishing line. The recycling tubes are located at the Federal boat landing, Moose Jaw, the State boat landing, Idle Hour, and Musky Jack's. We've also applied new stickers with UV protection to help prevent fading.

Hey everyone. Luke Hendrickson here. I'm the one who's been doing all the Artist Spotlights and a few other things. I just wanted to give a little update, since Thor and I were talking quite a bit, earlier today.

Camping.
We're getting questions about the camping. The tent camping/small camper area will NOT have sectioned-off campsites. It's more like a big open area, and we're just asking that you make yourself comfortable, but please don't take more space than you need. This will be on the Idle Hour Resort grounds, which has a bar and restrooms. Port-a-potties will be on the festival site as well.

Fires.
It's looking like fires will not be an option, due to dry conditions. This means our Saturday "late night campfire set" with Kyle Keller will now just be a "late-night set", to be held inside the Dipper. We have a feeling this will be welcomed by the time midnight rolls around. Any Sunday-night jams that pop up will be directed towards the camping area/Idle Hour.

Temps.
We're looking at comfy highs in the 60's and nighttime lows around 40. I know that most of us in attendance are northern people who are accustomed to the wild temperature swings that we can get in the spring, but just in case you're curious about how to prepare, we recommend bringing enough clothing to bundle up...especially for the last 3 or so performances of each night. The more of us that show up, the warmer will be!

Ticket sales are trickling in, and we're very encouraged by everyone's enthusiasm. We know that quite a few of you are waiting until you show up to get your tickets... but if you're able, we hope you'll consider getting them in advance. Even in the week leading up to the fest, advance ticket sales help us in gauging what to expect.

Remember, dogs are welcome without a ticket 🐕...as are under-18's with a guardian. There will be limited parking at The Big Dipper, but we have permission from local officials to park alongside the blacktop road. Of course if you are camping, you can park there.

You can get your tickets here ---> tickettailor.com/events/thebigdipper

Feel free to use this post as a forum for questions. I'm sure there are things that we haven't thought of yet. Thor and Catie and crew have been working tirelessly to transform the Dipper grounds into festival grounds, while I'm over here in Minnesota, trying to field questions while keeping in contact with the musicians, as well as with Thor and Catie.
This first edition of Dipperfest is going to be very much an outdoorsy experience. With your attendance and cooperation and eventual feedback, we hope to continue the fest in the future and to improve upon it with each incarnation.
Thank you for reading this far and for being on board! If you've been on the fence, I hope you'll take the plunge and buy those tickets! Like I said, drop your questions here, or message them to my page (Luke Hendrickson). Let's fest!!
