The Parkersburg News and Sentinel Half Marathon is this Saturday, August 16! The half marathon starts at 8 a.m. in downtown Parkersburg and travels out of the city into scenic surroundings before looping back into commercial area. In addition to the half marathon, there is also a two-mile race.
The half-marathon takes place prior to the Parkersburg Homecoming parade! Run in the race or cheer the racers on before celebrating our community at their annual event!

Blennerhassett Island Historical State Park is one of the most unique attractions in the state of West Virginia. Travel back in time as you board the Island Belle Sternwheeler and take a 20-minute ride across the river. Once you're on the island, take a tour of the reconstructed Blennerhassett Mansion and enjoy a narrated cover wagon ride around the island.

Boat tickets can be purchased at the Blennerhassett Museum located at 137 Juliana St in downtown Parkersburg or at the Parkersburg Welcome Center at 113 Ann St. Package tickets, which include the museum, are exclusively sold at the museum.

The island belle boards at Point Park on the hour starting at 10 a.m., with the last boat to the island being at 3 p.m. The boat departs from the island on the half hour with the last boat to leave the island being 4:30 p.m.
