The California legislative session is almost over. There are two bills to ask you Senator and Assemblymember to support:

My Zero Waste Store received a clean air resources board grant, which allowed us to purchase trees for this street in PASADENA. The street abuts a freeway, so the noise and pollution levels can be high, but the trees will buffer that and provide shade for the community. I was really grateful to the Visit Pasadena for helping to pick up the trees and dig the holes and water the trees so they’d have a chance to survive the summer heat. We planted them in October, which helped them get a good start. Hopefully they will live forever.🩷

Call-to-Action

Please sign the petition (https://bit.ly/45jThrM) to tell Los Angeles leaders to pass a new local law requiring reuse for onsite dining at local restaurants and food establishments and reuse at stadiums and venues in time for the 2028 Olympic Games. Reuse isn’t optional. Reuse is both a right and a necessity. Los Angeles should not just host the world in 2028. It must lead the way to a reusable future. Only 477 people have signed at this time. Let's help them get more signatures!

It's hard to raise money when you don't have a 501c3! Let's help them out!

Civic Sundays has been feeding 32 families every week over the last year.
They have been receiving most of their donations from their members but need more funds to help the continue this service. They need $250 a week.

NELA Food Distribution has been feeding 200 families a week. They are struggling to get donations Each week's food costs between $700 and $1200. One of the volunteers has been spending her own money to make up the shortfall.
