WE ARE HERE!! We made it!! 🎉🙌
For this trip, we booked a Central Park Balcony. And YES...It matters!

But 1st....we met the nicest people upon sitting down for lunch before coming to our room. Thank you for such an enjoyable lunch Jamie and Mustafa!

Now...We specifically chose this side of the ship over a Boardwalk Balcony because we wanted a little more peace and quiet. 🌿
In the same respect it's outside, fresh air and a balcony for less.

🔥Its important to note, the Balconies facing the inside of the ship are less private as you can see your neighbors across from you. So you may want to reconsider your intended extra circular actives if they are not appropriate for everyone's viewing pleasures...🤣🤣

The Boardwalk side can get VERY loud with live music, kids having the time of their lives 😂, and tons of activities happening below.
Don’t get me wrong… I LOVE all the energy! But when it’s time to sit on my balcony, sip my drink and relax, I want to hear a little less “WOOOOOO!” and a little more “ahhhhhhh…” 😂🍹

Now the bags are dropped, the ship is under us, and the adventure officially begins!

Sooooo… you know how I ALWAYS preach about flying FIRST THING IN THE MORNING because you need to leave yourself room for delays, cancellations, mechanical issues, weather… ALL the things?

Welllll… today is the ONE day...the ONE. DAMN. DAY. I decided to leave later. 🤦‍♀️

And let me remind you… I’m usually at 4AM without fail! But I have A LOT going on behind the scenes right now, so today’s schedule got pushed back.

And apparently… that decision has come back to bite me in the ass. 😂

Here’s how tonight is going:
✈️ #1 — 6:35 PM: Scheduled departure.
✈️ #2 — Delayed until 6:58 PM: They had to bring in a completely different plane.
Okay… not terrible. We can work with that.
✈️ #3 — 7:11 PM: We finally push back from the gate!
YESSSS! We’re late, but we’re moving! 🙌
✈️ #4 — 7:18 PM: We STOP taxiing on the runway. What the hell is happening right now?

Pilot comes on and says…
“Good news and bad news folks....They have shut down our departure runway.......we have to sit here an hour or longer....”
Truthfully i didnt hear much after the next part. 😳
🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

So here we sit… STUCK ON THIS PLANE on a shut-down runway for AT LEAST the next hour, according to the information we’ve received.
And it could potentially be WAAAAAY longer while the airport, airline and FAA figure out what the heck is going on.

And did I mention…
🚢 WE HAVE A CRUISE TO BOARD IN THE MORNING. 🚢

THIS. 👏 IS. 👏 REAL. 👏 LIFE.

And THIS is exactly why your travel agent is constantly telling you:
FLY. EARLY. IN. THE. MORNING.

Give yourself options. Give yourself backup plans. Give yourself TIME.

Because when you’re trying to catch a cruise, “We’ll just take a later flight” is NOT the game you want to be playing. 😬

Keep in mind: YOU CANT BOOK OR BOARD ANOTHER FLIGHT IF YOUR STUCK ON THE RUNWAY ON A PLANE.....

So please…
DON’T BE ME. 😂
I preach it because I know it.
