🏰✨ 55 YEARS AGO TODAY… A DREAM WAS DEDICATED! ✨🏰

On October 25, 1971, just weeks after Magic Kingdom welcomed its first guests, Roy O. Disney stood before the world to officially dedicate Walt Disney World in honor of his younger brother, Walt. ❤️

Walt had passed away in 1966 and never got to see his dream of “The Florida Project” come to life. But Roy was determined to make that dream a reality. 💫

❤️ Fun Fact: Roy insisted that the name be Walt Disney World rather than simply Disney World. He wanted everyone to remember that this magical place began with one man’s imagination, vision, and dreams — his brother, Walt Disney. ✨

Sadly, Roy passed away on December 20, 1971, less than two months after the dedication. He lived long enough to see his brother’s dream become a reality and leave behind a legacy that continues to bring happiness to millions of people around the world. 🥹🏰

Today, 55 years later, Walt Disney World remains a place where dreams come true, memories are made, and a little Disney magic touches all of us. ✨
