I just saw my neighbor running around the block with a suitcase... at midnight! 🏃‍♂️🧳

It turns out, they aren't moving out—they are practicing the 'La Maleta' tradition! In many Latin American and Caribbean cultures, it is believed that running with a suitcase right after midnight manifest travel, new adventures, and big journeys in the coming year.

Here’s how the ritual works:

The Goal: Moving with luggage creates momentum for future travel.

The Ritual: You have to run or walk quickly around the block immediately after the clock strikes twelve.

The Suitcase: Some use an empty suitcase to leave space for new experiences, while others pack a passport or swimsuit to manifest a specific destination!

I love seeing how our neighbors celebrate! It makes me wonder...
