The first day of fall has arrived in Pendleton, and with the change, its officially Maker Season.

A slower pace means more time for some of our favorite fall activities like strolling, challenging ourself with an art class, and dipping fresh bread in a cozy bowl of soup.

Come wander with us. Savor the season where Pendleton celebrates with creativity, flavor, and intention.

When in Pendleton… find a recipe in an old brothel and make a salad from the 1950s.

Full recipe for Crab Meat & Egg Salad (remember, it’s from the ’50s)

Remove the meat from 1 lb can; pick out the bones (if any) separate the meat, and cut in pieces. Cut the whites of 4 hard-boiled eggs in ¼ in squares. Blanch and shred ½ c of almonds. Toss all lightly together and season with salt and paprika. Rub 1 pimiento through a sieve, add gradually to 1 c of mayonnaise, beating constantly, then fold in 1 c of heavy cream, beaten until stiff. Add dressing to crab mixture. Serve in a mound in a nest of lettuce heart-leaves or crisp cress. Press the yolks of eggs through a ricer over top and sprinkle with paprika.

Our community shines with every new discovery, and a lot of you were first-time visitors! We hope you found something in Pendleton that sparked.
