Our Story

The family moved here in 1938 and built the house themselves. If your planning a visit to Lee County, or Lee County is calling you home, this is a great place to get some quiet, peaceful rest, enjoy the wildlife, enjoy the homey warmth and cozy atmosphere of a smaller country home, all with the vista of the ridge rising above the morning fog. While the twisting Powell River makes it's way along Big Hill , early morning fog traces the valley below. All the while, sunrise makes it's way into the front windows, top-down, bottom-up shades allow the warming sun to enter when you decide. The front porch awaits your visit, solar canning jars will light your evening there. Come stay awhile, come on home to Mother's Place.
