On the 31st, we went to check out the inside water park at Tropic Falls in Foley, AL. It was just me, my hubby and our 16 yr old son.
As my leg is currently messed up I did not do any slides cause you have to climb up the stairs. I did do the lazy river though and my son enjoyed the slides and hubby rode once. I do think my son would have had more fun with friends but he still enjoyed himself.
Here are some notes.
They have their restrooms and then at a separate entrance they have about 4 changing rooms with chairs inside. Hubby had to stand in front of the door of one so I could change as the lock was missing and you could see through the hole. I was tired of waiting. LOL I liked that the changing rooms were separate from the bathrooms though so that families could change together or a parent with a child of opposite s*x.
They have life vests of various sizes for those that need it. The temperature was nice in there. It felt like a warm summer day minus the sun blaring down on you. The roof is retractable though as well as the sidewall so they can open in the summer. The outside part of the water park is closed though during the winter season. Another patron said the lockers were $12 and $15 depending on the size. You pay with a credit card. We didn't end up using a locker we just kept our stuff at our table with us. They have a bar as well as a restaurant that you can order food. Your admission is also valid for all day so you can always leave to eat and come back later. You can see their menus and pricing online. The chicken tender basket does come with 4 tenders and the pizza is thin crust. If you get a combo, a 20oz drink comes with it or you can upgrade to a souvenir cup for an extra fee. You can also purchase the cup separately and it includes refills all day but its like at the theme parks where you have to wait about 10 min in between. You can bring it back with you at the next visit and pay a refill fee of $8.
Once you arrive, you do have to walk a bit to get to the water park. There is not a separate park entrance to just get to the water park. I mean it's not bad, I'm just having issues so I was trying to find the quickest route hoping there was a separate entrance by the parking lot so I didn't have to walk far. π©
When you pay it includes the rest of the park as well. So you can spend all day doing the regular theme park rides as well as the water park.
Overall, it is nice and I would recommend it to families with kids. It would be worth it to spend all day especially whether you are planning on swimming or not you still have to pay the entrance fee and I know it all adds up when you have several children so make a day of it to get your money's worth.
They do need to add tweezers in their first aid kit though. That was our only disappointment. Tyson ended up with a sliver of something in the bottom of his foot and there was no way to get it out. He had to walk on his toes but thankfully it was toward the end. Note to self, bring tweezers next time just in case. LOL
I put 2 videos in the comments.
If you are a Gulf Coast Neighbor you get a discount. It includes Escambia county, FL as well as some others. They are listed on their page. They also offer season passes. Right now they are doing a sale actually.
