New menu at the Beach Club. We were there last week and had calamari and mango habanero wings that were excellent. Drinks by the pool, the apps were great, took a quick swim then walked on the beach at sundown, needed to go boxes, it was a generous fill. Can’t beat it!

I never get this great of a photo but we do routinely see the eagles who live behind the villa. Our screened deck means my pics are never as good. Between the deer crossing in the back, the eagles and hawks and all manner of birds and the occasional armadillo crossing, we have spent some days just hanging around the place using apps to identify wildlife.

Well folks, I am disappointed to say that our HOA just dropped a bomb on us without warning. The complimentary beach chairs and umbrellas for owners and guests is unsustainable due to insurance issues and the community will be going to a fee based service.

We do have chairs and umbrellas at our unit for guest use but as they were ancillary so we will be adding more and upgrading what is there. We apologize for any inconvenience. Our HOA is still controlled by the developer and while owners are pretty upset, we have one seat out of three on the Board for now. That will be changing shortly, as I hope this policy does as well.

The Beach Club new cocktail menu as of October. The Club is only open to Lost Key Residents and Guests, which is a double edged sword. It means you can always get a table with a great view but also that there are fewer people to support this amenity. Personally, I love it most because I can come in off the beach, messy and tired and get a great meal with a view instead of going back to the place, showering, fixing hair and makeup getting dressed and driving somewhere for a nice dinner. We see a lot more sunsets this way and the doggo is happier because we never leave him for more than a couple of hours at most.
