Destination Pepin would like to announce that Alan Nugent, a leader in local tourism from neighboring Stockholm, WI, has been appointed by Governor Tony Evers to serve on the Wisconsin Council on Tourism, a 21-member advisory body to Travel Wisconsin.
As owner of Stockholm Pie and General Store, Alan transformed a small village destination into one of Wisconsin’s most beloved culinary landmarks with repeated nominations and two wins as Best Pie Shop in America. But it goes even deeper than pie! For many years, Alan has been a champion of rural tourism, the spirit of inclusion, and the creative energy of this area that draws visitors from across the Midwest and beyond.
This appointment is not only well-deserved; it is a win for every community along the West Coast of Wisconsin that believes in the power of welcoming people, sharing local stories, and creating unforgettable experiences.
Congratulations, Alan. The Pepin Tourism Commission and all of the small villages along Lake Pepin are so lucky to have you shaping our tourism future!
