The Perry Area Convention & Visitors Bureau honored our Hospitality Highlight recipient for August 2025 during today's Board Meeting: Rebecca Marfell with the Paws Awhile Cat Cafe! It was a timely celebration, as they are also celebrating their 185th adoption and 1 year business anniversary today 🥳
Her nominator shared: “In just under a year, Rebecca Marfell and Paws Awhile Cat Café have changed the game for our shelter and for so many cats in Central Georgia. By creating a cozy, welcoming space where people can relax, grab a drink, and meet adoptable cats in a stress-free environment, Rebecca has helped more than 170 cats find their forever homes, an incredible milestone we could never have reached this quickly on our own.
What makes Rebecca’s work so special is the genuine love she pours into each cat that comes through her facility. She gives each of them the chance to shine and offers a channel to connect them with families who might never have walked into a traditional shelter.
Beyond the impressive adoption numbers, her business has helped shift the way our community sees rescue cats, removing stigmas and barriers, sparking joy, and turning “maybe” adopters into proud cat parents. We are grateful for her partnership and the heart she brings to the Paws Awhile Cat Cafe every single day.”
Along with a certificate of appreciation from the Board Authority, Rebecca also received a $50 Yiftee Gift Card, redeemable at more than 20 businesses in Historic Downtown Perry!
