LOVE 2 TRAVEL is happy to announce an exciting Spring Trip to our Nations Capital. Enjoy a cup of coffee..and see what you could be doing in just a few months.
On April 29th we will board OUR BIG BLUE BUS (Larry assured me of that) at 6:00 am and this time, head EAST. After a day of travel with the necessary stops for lunch and breaks, we’ll arrive in Maumee, OH. Here we’ll check in to a Fairfield Inn for the night. Dinner will be on your own! There are a variety of restaurants near by!
Day 2:
Enjoy a deluxe continual breakfast after which we’ll board the bus and head for Lancaster PA. Tonight we’ll stay at the Heritage Hotel. Dinner will be at the “Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre” where we’ll also enjoy a performance of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF! (Amazing music…
If I were a Rich Man… Sunrise/Sunset!). Then it’s time for a good nights rest!
Day 3:
Enjoy breakast at the hotel and then we’re off for a tour of the Amish farmland in beautiful PA with its rolling hills and patchwork fields. Of course we’ll have some time for shopping and lunch on your own.
Mid afternoon will bring us to the SIGHT AND SOUND THEATRE (just like in Branson) where we’ll enjoy the AMAZING presentation of NOAH. We saw this before with its many live animals and I always had hoped to see it again! I think it’s my favorite of all the fantastic shows we’ve seen!! YOU WILL LOVE IT!!
Dinner tonight is at the Amish Plain and Fancy Restaurant. (Our bus driver Randy loved the Shoe Fly Pie!)☺️☺️
Day 4:
Now we’re off to OUR NATIONS CAPITAL.. but before we leave be sure and enjoy breakfast..
By mid morning we will arrive in Washington DC. We’ll drop our bags at THE WASHINGTON HILTON HOTEL and then be on our way to the Smithsonian Museum where we’ll visit the American History Exhibit and also the African American Exhibit… giving us an idea of the struggles and the triumphs that shaped our nation!
We will then enjoy lunch on our own here at the food court area before joining our guide who will take us on a tour of…..the WWII monument, the Vietnam Wall, Martin Luther King statue, the Lincoln Memorial and so many more! (Bring an umbrella just in case!). Mid afternoon we’ll check into our hotel which is in the heart of DUPONT CIRCLE.. a hotel steeped in history.. hosted presidents and other notable figures. Here you’ll enjoy the spectacular view of the Washington Monument. This evening we’ll enjoy a Murder Mystery Dinner Show at Maggianos. (If this is like Maggianos Restaurant in Chicago…ITS WONDERFUL. )🤗🤗
Day 5:
Breakfast at the hotel and then another full day of touring! A highlight will be the Air and Space Museum. It’s one of the most popular museums in the world. You’ll see everything from the very first airplane to the space suit from Mars… and everything in between!
Air Force ONE… and so much more!
Then we’re off to the National Cathedral where we’ll have a private tour… see the BEAUTIFUL SPACE WINDOW…the Canterbury Pulpit … and there’s quite a lot of history in the walls of this cathedral! Georgetown is next with its cobblestone streets and quaint buildings. Dinner tonight will be here at Tony and Joes on the waterfront! As we depart after dinner we’ll enjoy a beautiful LIGHT TOUR of the Monuments. DC is like no other city after the sun goes down…. It’s just stunning!
Day 6:
Breakfast again to start your day! We’ll meet OUR GUIDE AGAIN for a day of touring. We’ll start out at Arlington National Cemetery. Here we will take the tour mobile to see not only The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier… but many other famous and somber sights! (The Eternal Flame at the Kennedy Grave…!)
Depending on time/weather I have hopes of seeing the changing of the guards.. !!
There’s more to see… The National 9/11 Memorial at the Pentagon..the CAPITAL..the WHITE HOUSE and more! It’s back to the hotel to relax for a while before dinner! Tonight is our last night in DC. We will enjoy our final EVENING here at CARMINES…to enjoy an ABUNDANT FAMILY STYLE ITALIAN DINNER…. So delicious!!
Tonight before you go to bed… think of what this city has meant to our nation and to the world. Whisper a prayer for our country…. If you so choose!
Day 7:
Enjoy a delicious breakfast at the hotel. Of course you’ll have your luggage outside your door unless otherwise instructed. We will board the bus and get comfortable as we say Goodbye to WASHINGTON DC. We will have a full day of travel… and our destination tonight will be the ESSENHAUS HOTEL in Middlebury, IN. ( a favorite place for many of us!). Well enjoy a delicious dinner in their restaurant…and the evening will then be yours to enjoy as you wish.
Day 8:
Be sure to go and enjoy a delicious breakfast here at the hotel. We’ll then take a few hours to do some shopping in the Amish community.
Lunch will be on your own and then we’ll depart for home…. Getting to Marinette about 8:00 pm!
What an amazing trip we’ve had together! This tour took you EAST.. covering some beautiful country as SPRING wild flowers bloom in the woods and as the fields grow greener with every spring rain. From past travels I remember so many beautiful pink flowers everywhere.. just patches of them to brighten your day! I hope I will have the privilege of introducing to you…“The City of Cherry Blossoms”
