🎉🧙‍♂️🎉 What better day to talk about how to celebrate a birthday at Universal Orlando Resort than on Harry Potter’s big day! 🪄✨

Did you know Universal also has celebration buttons? Just head to Guest Services and put that baby on for some fun birthday greetings throughout the day. If you really want to level up, I have some ideas:

🌟 Book a VIP Tour: They offer private and non-private options that are quite affordable!

🌟 Get the Express Pass: Nobody should wait in lines on their birthday. Better yet, go UNLIMITED!

🌟 Stay at a Signature Hotel: Even for just one night, splurge and be extra close to the original parks and CityWalk. (All but Helios include the Unlimited Express Pass!)

🌟 Plan a sit down meal: This doesn’t mean don’t snack and have Butterbeer in every form it comes in. But birthdays are special days, so blow out a candle on some cake!

🌟 Book an Escape Room: Traveling with a few in your crew? Try your hand at the Jurassic Park or Back to the Future themed rooms at CityWalk.

🌴🤭 The Jungle Cruise jokes and puns don’t stop at the boat. Skipper Canteen in Magic Kingdom’s Adventureland brings the fun, the flavor and a whole slew of “Easter eggs” from the attraction and Adventurers Club from the now defunct Pleasure Island!

🍽️ This table service spot offers global-inspired eats (hello, "Hardy Har Char Siu Pork" and “Tastes Like Chicken Because it Is”) and quirky décor straight from the 🔎 Society of Explorers and Adventurers. Dining here feels like a delicious, extended ride queue. Be sure to take your time and look around. The Cast Members are fun, friendly and happy to point out some hidden secrets.

🙏🏻🌧️🙏🏻 We can plead “Rain, rain, go away…” but what if it won’t?

Rain is a near-daily guest in central Florida, but it rarely sticks around all day. Even during a downpour, your Disney day doesn’t have to be a washout. Here are a few of my favorite ways to make the most of it:

⭐️Resort Hopping: Resort hopping is SO fun and is a great way to scope out new resorts for your next trip. Some even have their own scavenger hunts!

⭐️Monorail Tour: This is a classic Disney attraction (it’s not just a mode of transportation). Stop for snacks or drinks at Grand Floridian, Polynesian, or Contemporary.

⭐️Skyliner Ride: As long as there’s no lightning or heavy wind, pick up a Skyliner Scavenger Hunt and explore!

⭐️Hit the Parks: Pack ponchos, extra socks, and go! Rain = lower crowds and sometimes...the best memories!

⭐️Disney Springs: Bowl at Splitsville, catch a movie, or splurge on Drawn to Life by Cirque du Soleil.

Let’s be honest, every family has that one person who’s like, “Water park? Hard pass.” 👎 (Maybe it’s even you.) But Universal Orlando’s Volcano Bay definitely deserves a skeptic’s consideration. 🌋💦🌴 It has the most lush, tropical landscaping, gorgeous public seating areas, private cabanas (if you feel like splurging), and food that’s honestly better than most quick service spots in the theme parks.

So while the rest of the crew is speeding down body slides and chilling in wave pools, you could be:

🍹 Sipping a frozen cocktail or slushy with a side of jerk shrimp mac and cheese

⛱️ Reading poolside under a shady umbrella

💻 Catching up on emails with a view of a volcano

🥗 Enjoying other surprisingly good menu items like mahi sandwiches, pulled pork plantains, and fresh salads

😴⬅️➡️🤠Whether you are the type of person that NEEDS their sleep to function or the kind that believes if you’re not at rope drop every day why bother, you still need to plan for a Walt Disney World vacation. No amount of extra time in the morning is going to make up for having no plan, and no amount of extra sleep is going to make long waits or “sold out” Lightning Lanes roll off your back.

How does ➡️NEAR the magic⬅️ compare to staying within bubble? Let’s talk about what a stay at a Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotel REALLY feels like, because I feel like most people have it wrong! 😏

🤔 WHICH Good Neighbor Hotel does matter, so you are going to want to consult a professional on making a selection. (👋 Hi.)

📍 Many are within walking distance to the main gate or even across the street! If they aren’t, transportation options are offered (often for a fee).

🍳 Some provide complimentary breakfast

💦 Some have waterparks on-site

🛏️ Rooms are typically larger, suites are available, some regular rooms have bunk beds, so great for a family of six

✨ Good Neighbor packages all come with MAGICAL EXTRAS, including a pin/lanyard for everyone in the party and 10% discounts at many Downtown Disney locations

🤑 Popping in to local dining at Panera, McDonald’s, Dominoes Pizza helps that food budget go a lot further

🚡It’s on the Skyliner line so you can breeze over to EPCOT or Hollywood Studios in style

🏴‍☠️ Fuentes del Morro feature pool is amazing and each of the five villages has a leisure pool as well

🏨 A walking path connects it to Riviera Resort
