📢 DV LOTTERY UPDATE: CAN YOU INCLUDE YOUR STEPCHILDREN AND ADOPTED CHILDREN? 🇺🇸🌍
Are you married, and both you and your spouse have children from previous relationships before having children together? Do you also have legally adopted children? Can you include all these children when applying for the Diversity Visa (DV) Lottery?
The answer is YES! However, there are important rules you must understand. According to the U.S. Department of State's DV Lottery instructions, you must list all your living children who are unmarried and under 21 years of age, including:
✅ 1. Your biological children: All your living biological children who are unmarried and under 21 years old.
✅ 2. Your stepchildren: If you have children from a previous relationship and your spouse also has children from a previous relationship, you must include all eligible stepchildren in your entry.
✅ 3. Your children together: If you and your spouse have children together, you must also list them if they meet the eligibility requirements.
✅ 4. Your legally adopted children: You must include children you have legally adopted in accordance with applicable laws, provided they meet the DV Lottery requirements. (If you get men pikin wae nor get legal adoption paper please nor include am)
IMPORTANT THINGS TO REMEMBER!
• You must list all eligible children, even if they do not live with you.
• Do not leave out an eligible child simply because the child is from a previous relationship or is not your biological child.
• Failing to list an eligible child or listing someone who does not qualify as your child could result in disqualification.
