Winter Weather Safety Reminders:
• We strongly discourage holding or reserving public on-street parking spaces, as this can lead to unnecessary disputes and safety concerns.
• Please avoid leaving your home unless absolutely necessary during the storm.
• Consider preparing for potential power outages by having additional safe heating sources available.
• We recommend gathering non-perishable food items and bottled water in advance for emergency preparedness.
Warming Centers Available:
Residents in need of a warm place may visit the following warming centers:
• MLK Recreation Center – 2101 Cecil B. Moore Ave
• Nicetown–Tioga Library – 3720 N. Broad Street
• Lillian Marrero Library – 601 W. Lehigh Avenue
Emergency & City Services:
Emergency services will remain available during the storm; however, response times may be impacted due to hazardous conditions. Please use caution and consider utilizing non-emergency resources when appropriate, such as 311, to ensure services are directed efficiently.
COLD BLUE & OUTREACH INFORMATION:
This will be a Cold Blue event in the City of Philadelphia. If you observe someone who appears to be homeless and in need of assistance, please contact the Homeless Outreach Hotline at 215-232-1984.
For the safety of animals, if you see a dog (stray or non-stray) left outside in the cold, please call 267-385-3800, then dial 1 to speak with a dispatcher.
