This is for Hartsville-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta (ATL). I will share updates on other airports as they become available.
FEDERAL PRESENCE DEPLOYING AT ATLANTA AIRPORT STARTING TOMORROW
📍 Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport
Travelers flying through Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport should be aware of an increased federal presence beginning tomorrow morning, according to a statement from Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens.
The Mayor’s Office confirms that personnel from Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Removal Operations will be deployed inside the airport.
➡️ WHAT TO EXPECT
According to federal officials:
• Agents will be assigned to assist the Transportation Security Administration - TSA
• Their role will focus on line management and crowd control inside domestic terminals
• The Mayor’s Office said they are NOT being deployed for immigration enforcement activities
All federal personnel will report directly to Transportation Security Administration during this assignment.
🚫 NO LOCAL POLICE INVOLVEMENT
• There has been no request for support from the City of Atlanta Police Department
• The City says there is no anticipated impact to operations at this time

Mayor Dickens said the City is actively monitoring the situation and remains in communication with federal partners, travelers, and the public.
The administration emphasized:
• Atlanta remains committed to ensuring travelers feel safe, informed, and supported
• The airport continues to operate as the world’s busiest and most efficient airport

• Ensure officers are paid so standard operations can resume at ATL and airports nationwide
