I get asked some version of this question almost every day: is it safe to travel to Europe right now?

The short answer is yes. The longer answer is that 2026 is genuinely different from the last time you went, and most of what you're reading online is either outdated or designed to scare you into clicking.

The new EES biometric border system is live. ETIAS is coming later this year. Summer heat in Southern Europe is something you actually need to plan around now. None of it is a reason to stay home. All of it is a reason to plan well.

I wrote the guide I couldn't find anywhere else. What's actually changed, what it means at the border, which dates and regions to think twice about, and how I help clients build trips that account for the unknowns without being paralyzed by them.
