I stood on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on my birthday… but I wasn’t thinking about fame, I was thinking about legacy⭐️. I stood at the Billy Graham star—a man of God whose life and ministry impacted millions and influenced generations.
Billy Graham was one of the most influential evangelists of the 20th century. He preached the Gospel to millions of people around the world, conducted evangelistic crusades across nations, and used his platform to point people—not to himself—but to Jesus Christ.
His ministry reached into the highest levels of American public life. He was a trusted spiritual adviser to numerous U.S. presidents and had a remarkable relationship with the White House, ministering to presidents from Harry Truman through Barack Obama, that’s eight different presidents at different terms / years of service. He was famously invited to pray, counsel, and speak with presidents across party lines.
But when you look at the magnitude of his accomplishments, perhaps the greatest thing about Billy Graham’s life was not the presidents he met, the crowds he preached to, the stadiums he filled, the books he wrote, or the honors he received.
It was the number of lives he pointed toward Christ.
One day, every one of us will exit this earth.
The question is not simply how successful will you become?
The question is:
What will your life have meant?
What will remain after the titles, accomplishments, possessions, influence, applause and photographs?
Will your life have made somebody believe again?
Will somebody be closer to YAHWEH because you lived?
Or will your greatest achievements end with you?
