🏛️ A little history, beautiful views, and a step back in time!

We recently visited Monticello in Charlottesville, Virginia, the home of Thomas Jefferson…the third U.S. president and the author of the Declaration of Independence, and the Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom of Religion.

It was fascinating to walk the grounds, see the home up close, and learn more about Jefferson’s life, accomplishments, and love of architecture and gardening. The visit also offered a deeper look at the lives of the people who lived and worked on the property.

Monticello offers several tours, so there’s plenty to discover beyond the beautiful views! We followed our visit with a stop by Jefferson Vineyards for some local w**e and live music! 🍷🎶

✨ An unforgettable evening in Malta 🇲🇹🍷
We had the pleasure of attending the wonderful Ta’ Betta W**e Estate Harvest Dinner, where exceptional w**e, beautiful surroundings, and an incredible culinary experience came together for a truly memorable night.

A special highlight was Adam’s Seafood Market Grill, featured in the Michelin Guide, whose seafood creations were the perfect complement to the evening’s w**es. 🦪🐟🍷

Santa Marija in Mosta 🇲🇹✨
Every 15 August, Malta celebrates Santa Marija — the Feast of the Assumption of Our Lady, one of the island’s most cherished religious traditions. In Mosta, the feast is especially meaningful because it centres around the magnificent Mosta Rotunda, dedicated to the Assumption. The Rotunda was built between 1833 and 1860, designed by Giorgio Grognet de Vassé and inspired by Rome’s Pantheon. Its enormous dome, almost 40 metres across internally, is one of the world’s largest unsupported domes.

A truly authentic Maltese experience at Ta’ Xmun Olive Grove 🌿🫒
From tasting their exceptional olive oil to enjoying delicious homemade Maltese treats, every moment was a celebration of local tradition and flavour. What made the visit even more special was learning about the fascinating history of the grove and the olive oil-making process. The passion, knowledge, and dedication behind every bottle were inspiring to see firsthand.
Surrounded by beautiful countryside, we discovered how olives are carefully cultivated, harvested, and transformed into premium olive oil while preserving generations of Maltese heritage. Paired with freshly made traditional treats, it was a perfect way to experience the rich flavours and stories of Malta.
