I've not been able to muster words, lately, related to so many things happening in the news. The fact that the US president would strip laws put in place to protect these creatures is just sickening.

Thank goodness for the Elephant Nature Park, Save Elephant Foundation, Lek Chailert, Jodi Thomas, and others who are a part of this beautiful, positive, life affirming and life preserving work.

Thailand's elephants face threats from human settlement and even tourism. Here's what Chiang Mai's Elephant Nature Park is doing about it.

Just came across one of the best things Ive ever seen. The New Environmentalists, narrated by long time eco-activist, Robert Redford, shows short clips on real, present-day, currently-happening eco and cultural situations, and people who are making a difference.

This one brought me to tears. Please take a minute to watch this clip. This woman.... her courage and dedication and committment and strength... is so inspiring.

You can donate to help her, if you want. I did, and I'm thankful to be able to help.

More than those jeans you want, more than those shoes, that purse, going out to dinner.... Your money can make a difference here.

A peaceful life, interrupted In 1994, Máxima Acuña and her husband bought a plot of land in a remote corner of Peru’s northern highlands known as Tragadero Grande. They built a small house on the property and lived a peaceful life raising their children. The family lived off the potatoes and other c...

Had an amazing time exploring the caleta, cenotes, jungle, y playa in the area. Despite this super touristy sign, the area was very undeveloped, and we were some of the only people there.

Had to throw in a pic of the dashboard I sat about 3 inches from, in the cambie to and from. I freaking love Mexico 🇲🇽 If we could only each be as expressive! ⭐️

Hola de Mexico! 🇲🇽 It feels sooooooo good to be out of the country. Between US politics and accumulated life stress, this Caribbean beach town is feeding my soul.

May this be a friendly reminder to do whatever it is that feeds yours 🇲🇽⭐️🌊

You all know how much I love Portland. Well, one of my friends and colleagues, Mary Cecchini, founder and director of Living Big Travel, is hosting a 5-day domestic adventure in Portland this July.

If you haven't experienced the city and would like to do so in a super fun, off-the-beaten-path kind of way, Mary's trip would be a great way to experience some hidden gems. Shes lived there her whole life and is a lovely, lovely person, as well. The trip is sure to be a blast! :)

“I grew up in Portland and have watched it grow, explode and come to life as a center of all-things outdoor, culture, food, beverage, sneakers — it’s really incredible to be part of a city on the move! After traveling the world and sharing my favorite cities with groups of women, I can’t wait to sho...

Thank goodness. Thank you, THANK YOU, Obama!

Obama has invoked 1906 Antiquities Act more than any president since FDR. Republicans want to change it.

There we go! Gosh, I love Green Global Travel.

"Many people assume that those who don’t travel lack a sense of adventure, and that they simply need to be braver and venture out into the world. But there are a lot of other reasons many people don't travel, and understanding those reasons is the first step towards making travel more inclusive. Check out this thought-provoking piece about the accessibility of travel!"

it’s patronizing – ignorant, even – to imply that lack of sense of adventure is the only thing keeping people from traveling. It isn’t.
