I finally built something again the other day!! A beautiful cedar gate for my aunt. Some have wondered where I've been. While I'm still around, I've definitely made a change. Most of my time is now spent on another business venture, PAJCO Technologies. This is a business we started when I was still in Missouri, and last year we ended up moving it to Le Mars IA and I went full time with it along with hiring a couple employees.. While I still do a few things from time to time, such as this gate, I now spend most of my time managing the business or helping in the shop. Until we started this business, my life was about woodworking and construction. While there's definitely still a passion for it, our new venture has so much potential and is certainly an exciting ride, much like this new machine we loaded on a truck this morning and sent it on its way across the country!

Kicking it a bit old school today! Sometimes good ol' hand tools are the only way to get something done. These old barn timbers repurposed as newel posts in a new home, were likely originally cut and machined with nothing but hand tools.

Been awhile since I've posted anything here! Have had lots going on, as well as a few cool things coming up. Here's a few recent things I've done. The mirror was something I built for my wife. Made from white oak from a tree at the lake of the Ozarks that we cut down. The cutting board was mostly an experiment....

Here's the before and after pictures of an exterior renovation project I've been working on. I did not do the new steps, but did all the rock on the front of the house, as well as built the cedar columns, entry roof, and garage door pergola.

Interior sliding "barn" doors are all the rage at the moment. Here's the one I custom built and installed today. This one is poplar with frosted glass panels.

Check out the staircase renovation before and after pics. I just finished up today, including custom built box newel posts, and hard maple handrails and wall cap. It's a big improvement! Just waiting on carpet.

I don't often build much for cabinetry. I just don't have a shop that's set up for it. But I have a fantastic client that insisted I build these for him. I converted this room from an old attached garage, into some extra living space. Due to the sloped floor, we had to build the toe space to fit. He loves it, and I'm thankful for great clients who trust me, and keep coming back!
