🌄 A Major New Smoky Mountain Attraction Is Coming: The Hatfield & McCoy Experience

A groundbreaking new attraction is preparing to make its mark in the Pigeon Forge–Sevierville area, and it’s rooted in one of the most legendary stories in Appalachian history. The Hatfield & McCoy Experience, located at 332 Wears Valley Road, will offer visitors an authentic, family-led journey into the real history behind America’s most famous feud — told directly by the descendants who lived it.

This is not folklore. Not Hollywood. This is the true Hatfield & McCoy story, curated and led by Jack Hatfield, MBA, great‑grandson of Devil Anse Hatfield and President of the Hatfield McCoy Family Foundation.

🔥 A New Smoky Mountain Attraction With Deep Appalachian Roots

The Smoky Mountains are known for their rich history, unforgettable attractions, and immersive storytelling — and this new experience is set to become one of the region’s most talked‑about destinations. Designed as a museum, distillery, and interactive heritage center, the Hatfield & McCoy Experience will give visitors a rare look at the feud that shaped Appalachian culture.

What makes this attraction stand out is its authenticity. Every detail, artifact, and story comes straight from the Hatfield family itself, offering a level of accuracy and depth you won’t find anywhere else.

🏛️ Inside the Hatfield & McCoy Experience

While still in the early development stages, the attraction is expected to open in phases and will feature a variety of interactive, educational, and family‑friendly amenities:

⭐ Hatfield & McCoy Historical Museum

Walk through the real timeline of the feud, explore original artifacts, and learn the true story behind the families who became American legends.

⭐ The Devil’s Lightning Moonshine & Bourbon Experience

Taste authentic Hatfield family moonshine and bourbon, crafted using water drawn from Devil Anse Hatfield’s historic well — just like it was made in the 1800s.

⭐ Gift Shop

Browse official Hatfield & McCoy merchandise, memorabilia, and treats inspired by the Devil’s Lightning brand.

⭐ Gem Mining Adventure

A hands‑on gem mine where kids and adults can pan for gems, gold, and hidden treasures.

⭐ Hand‑Scooped Ice Cream Counter

Enjoy fresh ice cream while taking in the sights, stories, and atmosphere of the attraction.

⭐ Meet & Greet Photo Ops

Meet Hatfield and McCoy descendants, take photos, get autographs, and share your experience with friends and followers.

⭐ Educational & Event Center

A dedicated space for school field trips, tour groups, corporate events, team‑building sessions, and community gatherings — making this a valuable resource for both tourists and locals.

🥃 A Moonshine Legacy Straight From the Source

One of the most anticipated features is the Devil’s Lightning Moonshine & Bourbon tasting room. Visitors will be able to sample and purchase spirits made using the same water source the Hatfields used generations ago. This isn’t just a tasting — it’s a direct connection to Appalachian heritage.

📍 A Prime Location in the Heart of Pigeon Forge

Located on Wears Valley Road, the Hatfield & McCoy Experience will sit right in the middle of one of the Smokies’ fastest‑growing attraction corridors. With millions of visitors passing through each year, this new destination is poised to become a must‑see stop for families, history lovers, and anyone exploring Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and Sevierville.

🌟 Why This Attraction Matters to the Smoky Mountains

The Smokies thrive on storytelling, heritage, and unforgettable experiences — and this attraction brings all three together. It adds a fresh, historically rich destination to the area’s lineup of top attractions, while also preserving and sharing a vital piece of Appalachian history.

For visitors searching for new things to do in Pigeon Forge, family‑friendly attractions, moonshine tastings, interactive museums, or authentic Smoky Mountain history, the Hatfield & McCoy Experience is shaping up to be one of the most exciting openings in years.

👀 Stay Tuned — More Details Coming Soon

As development continues, more updates will be released about opening dates, phases, and new features. One thing is certain: this attraction is set to become a major highlight of the Smoky Mountain tourism scene.

If you don’t want to deal with massive crowds, packed parking, and heavy traffic on the Parkway — make sure you avoid these high-impact car show weekends! Most of these events draw thousands of enthusiasts, turn the parkway into a rolling car museum, and bring in tons of visitors.

📌 ADDITIONAL EVENTS NEARBY (Worth Knowing):

(NOTE: Some other regional events like VW and truck shows may pop up — check local calendars if you’re sensitive to crowds.)

---

🚦 TRAVEL & TRAFFIC TIPS FOR CAR SHOW WEEKENDS • These weekends often fill every parking lot downtown by mid-morning and streets turn into slow cruising zones.
• Parkway traffic can back up for blocks — even evenings during Rod Run.
• Book cabins or hotels well in advance if you want to attend these.
• If you’re trying to avoid all this chaos — aim for weekdays outside these dates, or plan your trips in Jan–Feb, early March (before shows), summer weekdays, or October leaf-peeping season.

---

🏁 Whether you’re a gearhead planning your own Smokies adventure or a visitor who’d rather avoid packed parkways — this calendar has the key dates to bookmark! 🚘📆
