Caymus Cabin Welcome to our home away from home! Caymus Cabin is a five bedroom/ 3 bath vacation rental cabin in Pine Mountain, GA 1/2 mile from Callaway Gardens!

It is within the Pine Mountain Club Chalets and Resort and has many family friendly ammenities.

We’ve had a great year so far with nearly a full calendar and many back to back bookings! Caymus Cabin gets a lot of love from our guests. Michael and I try to go down and make repairs and updates in-between bookings, while our housekeeping staff keeps up with laundry and cleaning.

This trip we installed a new dishwasher and kitchen sink faucet. We brought all new cookware for the kitchen as well as took years off of all three bathroom’s grout with a deep tile cleaning! New headboards for the queen bed in the “French Room” and king bed in the “Callaway Suite” will be installed in the next few weeks!

We’re down in Pine Mountain GA putting up the Christmas decorations, doing a few repairs, and enjoying Caymus Cabin ❣️

I discovered a little Christmas hack; I was going for a walk today and forgot any head gear… so I pinned the toe and cuff together of one of the Christmas stockings hanging around ( heh heh) and voila, ear warmer headband ❣️

We had many repeat guests this year and nearly every weekend was booked ! Checkout our page a book early!

We often come to Caymus Cabin in between guest bookings. That is getting harder to do since bookings continue to grow!
We bring supplies down for our awesome housekeeping team, make repairs and improvements. This time, Michael fixed a small leak in the bathroom pedestal sink and I sewed up a tear in the lining of the leather sofa.
I bought new sheet duvets for the quilt room and made runners for the foot of the beds. My favorite project (this time) was to put together a guest book with; cabin information, brochures of local activities, and menus. I put a few blank pages in titled “Guest recommendations and comments” for local activities and restaurants. I look forward to reading those!

There’s always something fun to do every season and this season Callaway Gardens has started their pumpkin festival !

Down here ringing in the New Year! I love to cook here. The “kids” are coming for an overnight to se Fantasy in Lights at Callaway Gardens. Last night for dinner I made the mushroom, truffle burratta, pasta.Yum! This morning I made this orange almond cake. I made it sugar-free. Recipes included. Happy New Year’s ❣️🍾🥂

We just came down to decorate for Christmas, restock supplies for house keeping, have firewood delivered and enjoy a little time at our rental chalet Caymus Cabin.

I tried a recipe from Wandering Chickpea . I love cooking in our little but well stocked kitchen. Tonight I made a rustic chicken recipe in my treasured iron skillet; pesto chicken and orzo. Soooo good! I added a little feta and green onion before serving and paired it with a fresh spinach, pear, red onion, and champagne vinaigrette. We both loved it, wholesome, flavorful, comfort food. I will make this many more times!

It has Castelveterano olives, artichoke hearts and basil pesto. Not to mention toasted orzo and garlic. I love that the chicken is cooked stovetop skin side down for a crispy texture but finished by baking the crispy chicken on top of the orzo mix.

1. Lazy morning w/coffee on deck looking at the buzzards, cows,horses, and rolling pastures.
2. Pack cooler w/lunch, beverages, beach towels and chairs.
3. Power walk (2mikes) around Robin Lake at Callaway Gardens.
4. Peel off walking shorts, tank top revealing bathing suit.
5. Hangout at beach 🏖 Eat lunch. Cool off in water with fountain!
6. Order dinner for pickup from Oyster House! Pickup on way back to Caymus Cabin
7. Eat at wine barrel table alfresco
8. Finish well with martinis 🍸 at sunset!

Quick trip down to Caymus Cabin to resupply the house keeping closet and talk to our handyman about some improvements!

It’s a beautiful time of year to be here!
Tomorrow we will enjoy the beach at Callaway but tonight I brought an Apron’s meal kit and viola, dinner at our wine-barrel table overlooking the pastures!
