Have you ever read Alexander and the No Good, Very Bad Day? Well I think today’s adventures could have been the sequel 😬 You see here in this picture are two boys who are still eager to head to Philly to meet up with their Dad while he has a layover for the weekend. We still had hope even after the morning had already had lots of hiccups. We were still eager for our trip after the lot we normally park in was full and my TSA precheck would not show up on my ticket but after it was scanned in regular security it showed up on their systemand everyone looked at me like I was crazy for using the regular line. But the fun doesn’t stop there…. we made it on the first flight flying standby only to find out that there was really only 2 seats and not 3 like the gate agent thought and had to get off that flight. Are you ready for the best part, since the plane was full and there was no room for our carry on luggage we had to gate check them before we got on the plane. You know the one that until we boarded and then found out didn’t have enough seats 😱 So our bags made it to Philly but after 3 full flights I waved my white flag and surrendered and headed home. We are all so disappointed that the adventure we were looking forward to didn’t happen but silver lining at least we were able to come home. Thankfully Daniel was able to grab our bags in Philly to bring home. I think it will be awhile before I try to fly standby again 😳 Y’all I need a large adult beverage!

Today Daniel finally made it to his last state, Hawaii. He has officially been to all 50 states! What an amazing accomplishment and what a way to get to celebrate it with the stunning beauty of Hawaii. I’m not gonna lie I am a little jealous 😉

When we are not exploring in our Airstream, Daniel is a pilot and tonight this guy heads off on his very first 747 trip! He put in the hard work and spent 7 weeks in Kentucky training to fly one of the biggest planes in the world. To say I am proud is an understatement. Not only is he flying a new airplane but he is also exploring a new part of the world. His first trip is taking him to Hong Kong! I can’t wait to see picture and Facetime with him! We joked today that he would be talking to us from the future since he will be 12 hours ahead 😳 If you have a few moments please send up some prayers for safe travels for Daniel. The boys and I sure are proud of you and can’t wait to hear all about the amazing things you will experience!!

First camping trip!

Today the boys and I were blessed to take our homeschooling on the road and volunteer our time at in Shiloh. We spent the morning planting dahlias, watering, and bundling flowers to be dried for their dahlias fest coming up at the end of September. This place is such a blessing to the women they serve who have dealt with trauma in their life. If you have a second go like their page and if you live near Shiloh please make some time to visit for the dahlias fest to pick your own fresh 💐! They are always looking for volunteers and have a place to sign up to volunteer on their site if you feel lead to help. Today was so hot but so much fun!

If you are ever in Louisville do yourself a favor and visit Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Derby Museum! It was spectacular and we all learned so much plus we had the opportunity to go down to the track and stand at the rail and admire the original grandstand spires.

We are slowly but surely getting our Airstream ready for our first adventure. I was so lucky to have my buddy help me organize our many thrift store finds. Airstream tour coming soon!
