From Fire Academy to Pine Valley I counted 186 cars and trucks, stopped in at 5 spots, spoke to 30 people. 10 have had luck with a few catch and release. All and all not a bad day. Good luck out there!

After the rain we just had I walked a few creek branch streams, water flowing good, still clear, and many large trout still hanging out with 1 day+ to go. I saw a few 18" for sure. Good luck everyone!

Thats it for the pre season, good luck to you all. Lets hope the local economy gets a nice boost! I think it's going to be a great year, the DEC guys that I was out with for 2 days straight said it was the best run they have seen in years. Please remember to use caution and maybe stay to the sides of the Creek rather then in it. Also buy from the locals, food, bait and supplies they really count on next week as a boost for their businesses. Remember 1 fish each must be 15" plus to keep. Always better to catch one take a photo and send it back to get bigger next year. The Mother load at the mouth of Sleepers Creek. 68 of the 2 day total of 484 were caught here in 10 minutes. A 31 incher at 10 pds and a bunch at 22 to 26. Sometimes you got to have fun at your job. Monitoring the health of the Trout is important so please no negative remarks. They are doing what is required to keep the species abundant.

So they finished for the day at the base of sleepers creek, this spot they pulled 68
fish out in 20 minutes, many in the 22 to 26 inch size. They said this is the most and biggest catch they have ever done. 468 fish in 2 days. Gonna be a great year. Most every female was hard, which means they still have eggs.
