As you can see, there was another accident on the Mineral Creek Road out of Ouray today. One account says it was a lapse in concentration in a narrow washed out section with a very abrupt roadside drop. This is one instance that shows we are not just blowing smoke when we tell you that mountain driving is dangerous for reasons most other terrains don't have.
One or two seconds of inattention and this is the result. You cannot drive these roads as you do in other places. There are "traps" like this one that will not forgive even the smallest of errors.
We are happy to report that the driver was Okay, the Jeep, not so much.
