Hello Fun Seekers! We have gotten word that Pipestem is having to cancel our 2021 weekend due to renovations. While this makes us sad, it makes it much easier to make the decision and keep things safe for our square dancing family. We are on the books for May 6&7, 2022 - hopefully we can gather again and dance and laugh! Please be safe. We'll see you soon!

Hello Pipestem square dance family!
Thank you for your patience as we navigate these very interesting times! Everything is a moving target and things are still shaking out.

I heard from our Pipestem staff today, and the resort is closed until at least April 30th as of now. Because of this, we have made the very difficult decision to cancel the weekend this year. That's cutting it way too close, and we don't want our dancers to have to make the difficult decision to come or not come. Please forward this onto any of your email lists who may have been planning on joining us so we can get the word out.

I have a small handful of checks that I have been holding on to. These will not be cashed and will be ripped up. For those who paid via PayPal, I'll be initiating refunds in the next couple of days. For those who have reservations already, here are instructions from Dale at Pipestem:

Please instruct them to call Pipestem directly at 304-466-1800 or the WV State Park and Forest Call Center at 833-727-5798 . It will be most helpful when they call if they will refer to their reservation by a confirmation number. We can transfer their deposit and accommodation to 2021 or refund, whichever they prefer. We will not do anything to any reservation unless we hear from the guest.

Please make sure to give them a call.

We're on the books next year from May 5th- May 9th 2021 and will be hoping to throw a big Pipestem Funseekers party when we get back together!

We appreciate each and every one of you! You are missed terribly, but we'll get to the other side stronger and ready to greet you all with open arms and lots of joy and laughter!

Things are changing rapidly with regards to the COVID situation. We are trying to balance being prudent and safe with still having the weekend.

As of now, just about all clubs have suspended dancing activities in the area. I am missing my Monday and Tuesday night fellowship times, but I believe that it's the prudent thing to do. I am happy to hole up here at home if it means we can get back together soon.

I received word from our friends at Pipestem this morning that they have canceled all groups/meetings until April 19th. West Virginia just got it's first confirmed case, so I suspect that things are going to start shifting there. Pipestem is open, but they have implemented quite a few restrictions. Dale has let me know that if things change, he'll let us know ASAP. So, we will hold off on making the decision to stay or go for another couple weeks. I've received quite a few responses from y'all with what you are thinking, which has been helpful.

Greetings to our Pipestem square dance family!
With the current situation surrounding our new friend Corona, we've had lots of inquiries about what we are going to do with our Pipestem weekend.

Our staff has been in discussion over this trying to decide what would be the best all around decision. Some of the group would like to hold off on making the decision for another week or two, so as of now we are still planning on holding the weekend. We will make a final decision in the near future. We haven't heard anything about the resort itself and if they are restricting things, so that will also play into our decision.

All that being said, I am interested in your responses. If you ARE planning on being there, could you let us know? And if you are leaning towards skipping this year, we'd love to know that too. This will help with our decision. The last thing we want to do is put our people at risk. You are our family, and as such we have an obligation to protect each and every one of us!

If we DO cancel, we will be back next year and will throw a welcome back to Pipestem party!!!!

Get your reservations in for Pipestem May 1, 2,& 3. And as you turn onto that road up the mountain to Pipestem, keep an eye out for the welcoming committee - they just love to see you come for a visit for FunSeekers Weekend!
