I’m excited to share that I’ve been invited to an exclusive Fora FAM at Moon Palace The Grand Punta Cana from September 27–30!

FAM stands for familiarization trip, and it’s one of the things I love about being a travel advisor: I get opportunities to experience properties firsthand so I can give my clients insight that goes far beyond what you’ll find on a resort website.

While I’m there, I’ll be participating in a resort site inspection and learning directly from The Palace Company.

Two clients, both busy working moms, each wanting a great summer vacation without adding another major task on their to-do lists.

I loved helping Erin plan a graduation trip for her daughters to Turks and Caicos. Finding the perfect resort on the Bight Settlement meant that world-class snorkeling was just steps away. 🤿🐠 Windsong Resort had spacious 2 bedroom suites that her teens loved, too.

For Sheryl, the challenge was finding a spacious suite on a lake within driving distance for her two young girls to enjoy. A two-room suite at Geneva On The Lake helped everybody take their daily naps after the pools and splash pad. 🛝

If you're looking for a fun & relaxing getaway with your girlfriends, keep Denver at the top of your list.

🛫It's a nonstop flight from most U.S. cities and easy to get around (love the train from the airport, though you'll want to rent a car if you're going out of the city).

You can stay in the city or explore the nearby sites in Golden, Red Rocks, and the National parks --or a mixture of both, like my 2 BFFs and I did. 🏞

The Maven Hotel was the perfect location, and their free happy hour drinks and churros at Poka Lola Social Club and Kachina Cantina made our evenings off to a fun start!

Have to also shout-out Ichigo Matcha --it was a new level of delicious with their chocolate-lined fish cone and matching macaron on top of soft strawberry soft serve. 😋

Most parents of children with autism that I've talked with have never heard about Certified Autism Travel Professionals (CATPs) - so let's change that!

A few tips for choosing the right CATP for you:

1. You can look their name up in the IBCCES registry and check their certification to make sure they've kept it current (it expires every 2 years, and must be maintained with continued education). Link is under the last graphic.

2. You may want to ask if the CATP has any personal experience working or living with someone with autism -- or even better, multiple experiences. As we know, if you've one person with autism...you've met one person with autism.

3. If your loved one has any co-occuring conditions, you may ask if the CATP has any knowledge or experience with those. 🎓 Because of my background in school psychology, I also have education and experience with various disabilities and needs, including anxiety, cerebral palsy, Downs syndrome, Williams syndrome, ADHD, Tourette's, learning disabilities, ARFID, apraxia, and many more.
