Orvieto -
a small city perched on a rock cliff in Umbria, Italy. Duomo di Orvieto, dating from 1290, has a mosaic facade and houses a marble Pietà sculpture. The Pozzo di San Patrizio is a 16th-century well shaft with a double spiral staircase. Hidden underneath Orvieto lies an intriguing underground city that winds its way beneath the main monuments. This secret city is dotted with man-made caves and a maze of Etruscan tunnels, wells, quarries, cisterns and cellars, all carved into the tufa-stone.

Assisi- 🇮🇹
Assisi is a hill town in central Italy’s Umbria region. The population of Assisi center is 900. It was the birthplace of St. Francis (1181–1226), one of Italy’s patron saints. The Basilica of St. Francis is a massive, 2-level church, consecrated in 1253. Its 13th-century frescoes portraying the life of St. Francis have been attributed to Giotto and Cimabue, among others. The crypt houses the saint’s stone sarcophagus.

Perugia is an Italian city and the capital of the Umbria region. It’s known for its defensive walls around the historic center. The underground tunnels taking you from one area to the main square. The medieval Priori Palace exhibits regional art from the 13th century onward housing the Galleria Nazionale dell'Umbria art museum. Pedestrianized Corso Vannucci is the focus of city life. Looking onto Piazza IV Novembre, the Gothic cathedral houses Renaissance paintings and frescoes. In the square's center, Fontana Maggiore is a marble fountain with carvings of biblical scenes and zodiac signs.

Siena, a city in central Italy’s Tuscany region, is distinguished by its medieval brick buildings. The fan-shaped central square, Piazza del Campo, is home to the Palazzo Pubblico, the Gothic town hall, and Torre del Mangia, a slender 14th-century tower offering panoramic views from its distinctive white crown. The city’s 17 historic “contrade” (districts) radiate outward from the piazza. Siena is renowned for its famous Palio horse race, which takes place twice a year, attracting numerous spectators to witness the iconic event, where 10 horses, representing 10 of the 17 contrade, compete by racing around the main square of Siena for three laps.
